JOE SATRIANI returns to Australia

What do Steve Vai, Metallica's Kirk Hammett and Larry Lalonde from Primus all have in common?

They all took guitar lessons from... Joe Satriani!

An Italian-American native of New York state, Joe Satriani has released 11 solo albums, received 13 Grammy nominations and, sold in excess of 7 million albums worldwide and with his latest album Professor Satchafunkilas And The Musterian Of Rock due for release on April 5 and an imminent Australian tour - the countdown is on for all things Satriani!

Inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Satriani (or Satch as he's fondly referred to), started his incredible guitar playing career at 14, and by the early '90s Satch was creating his own line of guitars for Ibanez as well as being hailed as one of the World's Top Ten all time greatest guitarists!

Satriani classics include his debut release Not Of This Earth and what is probably his best known - Surfing With The Alien – the first instrumental guitar album to crack the Top 40 charts. His last album Is There Love In Space is described by Satriani as his "rockin' side" and also showcases his relatively under-explored vocal chords.

In 1996 Satriani was a founding member with Steve Vai of the G3 tour, now one of the most anticipated guitar events on the world touring calendar which wowed Australian audiences with sold out shows in 2006.

Tuesday, July 8th - Metropolis, Fremantle
Thursday, July 10th - Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide
Friday, July 11th - The Forum, Melbourne
Monday, July 14th - The Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Thursday, July 17th - The Tivoli Theatre, Brisbane

Tickets for the Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane shows are being sold through Ticketek.
