WELCOME
This is the second issue of the OzProg Newsletter sent in July, but I can assure you this is the real July newsletter. Accept no imitations!
The past few weeks have seen us welcome a new friend into the OzProg fold, with May featured artists sleepmakeswaves now calling OzProg home with a hosted forum. It's already going gangbusters, so come and join the discussion!
Limelight Brisbane is back again this month focusing on the heavy alternative side of prog rock, with City Chalk Outline, The Second That and Ghost Town High set to lift the roof off the Globe Theatre on Thursday, August 21st. Be there!

WHAT'S NEW
Melbourne cinematic rock band A State Of Flux have been around for years, quietly toiling away, perfecting their sound and live show. I witnessed the circus first-hand at their recent launch for the single "Surface Tension", and clearly the time hasn't been wasted. You can read an extended Q&A with guitarist Red Black on OzProg in which he talks about their past, present and future, and look out for them coming soon to a town near you!
We've also had recent interviews with Dom Alessio of Sydney alterna-prog band Paper Champion, Textures' Bart Hennephof, and a double header with Bushido and James Livesy of Sleep Parade.
FEATURED ARTIST - NUCLEUS
Blending the dark intensity of Tool with the atmospheric electronics of Massive Attack, Sydney's Nucleus put a unique spin on the often-explored alternative rock genre. Circumvolution is their second EP and a must-have for any Australian music fan, but where they really shine is in a live environment. Catch the circus at Nucleus' EP launch on August 9th at the Excelsior in Sydney, before they venture south to Melbourne for two shows at the end of August.

Well, that's about it from me for July. I hope everyone going to Sigur Ros enjoys themselves for me! :(
