Rhys Evans is an angsty (nearly-) 18-year old music nerd and prog-snob based in the suburb of Duffy, Canberra. He’s been writing for OzProg.com for more than a year, now, which makes the short tally of reviews he’s written seem a little pathetic. Rhys' hobbies include whining about voice-filtering on Kamelot’s Ghost Opera, fighting with his friends over whether Eluveitie is a better band than old Ensiferum, working, playing bass, writing lyrics and songs for a power/progressive/melodic death metal band that may one day surface, and wishing that more people would stop him in the street and say 'hey, nice Ne Obliviscaris shirt, let's go get coffee.'

Ah... Kamelot. One of my favourite bands, which could present an issue as I review it: I'll almost certainly demonstrate a bias in one way or another. Their seventh studio release,

DragonForce - Inhuman Rampage
Well, for starters, I'm quite bemused that I'm reviewing for OzProg an album by a band that seems to contradict every aspect of the progressive genre, demanding a return to the heady days of the 80s: lame video-game consoles, brain-hurting-ly fast and endless guitar solos, singalong choruses and keyboards that sound like a clock radio's alarm setting, but in different pitches. Still, I like DragonForce... even if I sometimes don’t admit it. So, let the
